About The Turtle

Finally “About The Turtle” is back where it belongs under ABOUT , on Oct 08. – yes the Turtle is slow, told you so ๐Ÿ˜‰ย

This was posted yesterday in my About page, that I very cleverly – what was I thinking ? – made in two sub pages : about the Turtle as in about me, and about the TurtleWay as in about the blog, thinking I could extend a bit my deadline for doing the dreaded About Page.

And everything was looking fine …it really was , except the text disappeared in thin air ! And today I have to read , read, read right? so I cannot fix the “Abouts” . So here it is , an About Me (kind of) :

The Turtle ย adopted the slow movement long before it was fashionable. Right from birth earning her the childhood nickname ofย  Little Turtleย .

And always had way more fun watching others from a little distance (thus the interest for reading, you are living the story and yet not really there) .

This Turtle likes to read. Everything : books, magazines, and now blogs …oh the blogs they are like a book, a magazine, a travel brochure, a glimpse of how other people live in faraway lands all wrapped in one beautiful bow.

And music? Ah the music gets her going anytime. Depending on the mood of the moment – which ย is the only thing changing fast on this girl – she will listen to classic, pop, rock, reggae, samba, house, techno, funk, you name it, as long as she likes it she is singing and sometimes even dancing to it.

Best place to be? Swimming on a beach, which she doesn’t get to enjoy often, because oh the moves one has to go through to get there.

Absolutely hates : dust, but has to live with it because loves her windows open. Dog hair everywhere, but loves her two rescued dogs and an adopted one. And can’t stand the smell of food cooking , doesn’t mind eating it though.

The Turtleย wants to learn how to write, how to come out of her shell more often, and how to use her laptop. And so got this mad idea on her head to start blogging and learn all three at the same time.

So here is The Turtleย st…art…ing .

  1. I have made the same analogy here, feeling like a turtle, poking my head out and retreating. Time and encouragement have helped me greatly. ๐Ÿน๐ŸนHere’s to you coming out of your shell turtle.

    1. Thank you .
I feel like I have spent most of my life retreating but the time has come to be a little more adventurous and participate a little more ๐Ÿ˜‰
Turtle Hugs and thank you for reading ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Ah! Thank you so much ๐Ÿ™‚
But you know I still feel that I have to come up with a “proper” one , but I’ve been dreading it and dragging …
I was reading you just now and I am going back ๐Ÿ˜‰

      1. I know what you mean – I threw mine up there as my very first post. I’m not satisfied with it, but it’s stuck for now.

And thank you…for reading. It means a lot to me. If I’m not for you, I understand. But I’ll be following your journey.

I love turtles, by the way. I recently did some digging into turtles in Native American culture. Fascinating stuff. I’m rambling all over your page. I tend to do that..sorry…

  2. Turtles are not known for their warm, soft inner bellies. But under their shell, well… you’re words are intuitively well chosen. I see you have a knack for writing. If you truly haven’t written much before…I’d place my bet on you, turtle! Remember, the turtle did win the race!

    1. Wow! Thank you very much for your encouragement and your sweet words. And no , I have not written much before , besides my “ranting diary” from time to time and that one is in Portuguese and for my eyes only ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. When the shell is closed, it is a safe and dark space. But as the shell slowly begins to open, the light begins to filter in. The light that represents hope, new ideas, new experiences and new adventures. For an introvert that can be very scary.
One day I was driving down the road and a turtle was crossing the road. Usually when a car gets near them, they go inside and close the shell, not this brave little turtle. The turtle never stopped and kept on walking to get to the other side.
Keep on pushing forward and don’t let the “cars” get in your way.
